Berta Caihuelas Navajas joins EXPRESS<sp>2</sp> as an expert on political inequalities

We are delighted to welcome Berta Caihuelas Navajas to the EXPRESS2 Consortium. She will be working as a postdoctoral researcher, specialising in political inequalities and democratic participation.

Berta holds a PhD in Social Sciences from the University Carlos III of Madrid (UC3M). Having previously held a visiting lecturing position at the University of Barcelona (UB), she will now be based at UC3M for the duration of her involvement with EXPRESS2, exploring how climate change and territorial disparities can be addressed through a renewed European social contract.

The appointment of Caihuelas strengthens EXPRESS2’s ability to incorporate social science insights into its territorial case studies and stakeholder dialogues. Her expertise will inform guidelines aimed at boosting voter engagement, gender equality and trust in public institutions; all of which are essential for a fair ecological transition.
