Coffee Forum: Saving the EU from its illiberal Member States

On 29 September 2025, the Scuola Superiore Sant’Anna will host a Coffee Forum exploring the impact of populism on the European social contract.

This session is one of the STALS (Sant’Anna Legal Studies) seminars and will be chaired by Giacomo Delledonne. The event will launch the book Saving the EU from Its Illiberal Member States, by András Jakab (European Court of Human Rights and University of Salzburg) and Lando Kirchmair (University of Innsbruck). The two authors will speak at the Coffee Forum alongside Antonia Baraggia (University of Milan) and John Morijn (University of Groningen).

The Coffee Forum will provide a platform for presenting the research findings of the EXPRESS2 project to a wider audience. Attendees will have the opportunity to discuss issues of public interest related to populism in an informal setting.
