EXPRESS<sp>2</sp> Project presented in Belgrade

EXPRESS² scientific coordinator Antoni Abat, together with his team colleagues from the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona (UAB), Jorge Piñera and Santiago Villar, participated in the conference "EU constitutional identity through an explicit social contract", held on 27 September at the Faculty of Law, University of Belgrade.

Our project coordinator presented the pros and cons of an explicit EU social contract and shared the panel with Miodrag Jovanovic, from the host institution.

During the first panel of the afternoon session, Santiago Villar presented the EXPRESS² project and explained its main features, in particular the disruptive elements that will be analysed during the project.

Following this, Jorge Piñera explained one of these disruptive elements (climate change) and presented examples - and possible solutions - for climate refugees.

Each panel was followed by a round of questions and answers, which led to fruitful discussions and debates between the speakers and the participants, both in person and online.

Finally, the event was closed by Antoni Abat and Miodrag Jovanovic, who mentioned that this was hopefully the first of a series of events on this topic.
